Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal information we collect through contextengine.com and through the hosted Context Engine application, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We collect deliberately little, so there is not much to explain.
01Who we are
Context Engine is a product of LTVplus LLC, doing business as Context Engine ("Context Engine", "we", "us", "our"). Context Engine is forged by Relote, our team.
Postal address: 1032 E Brandon Blvd #1003, Brandon, FL 33511, United States.
Contact: hello@contextengine.com.
For the personal information described in this notice, we are the data controller.
02What this notice covers
This notice covers two things: this website, contextengine.com, and the account you hold in the hosted Context Engine application. On this website, personal information reaches us in three ways: when you email us, when you book a consultation, and when you apply for a contest we run, and on top of that our host keeps standard technical logs and we measure traffic. In the application, we collect what we need to create your account and sign you in, including the sign-in details described in section 04. Each of these is described below.
This notice does not cover the working content inside a Context Engine instance: the material your company connects to it and the memory built from that material. Whether the instance is self-hosted or hosted by us, your company owns that content and is the controller of it, and a separate written agreement governs how we handle it.
03The information we collect
Information you give us
- If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to write.
- If you book a consultation, you use a Google Calendar booking link. You enter details such as your name, email address, and any notes. Google collects those details on its own systems, under Google's privacy policy, and shares the booking with us so we can meet you.
- If you apply for a contest we run, such as the one at contextengine.com/marketingspeak, you give us your name, work email, company, website, role, team size, country, and your written answers. We store the application in a database we control at Cloudflare and in our own Context Engine instance, where our team reads it to judge. The form also has an optional, unticked box for hearing from us about Context Engine; we only send you news if you tick it. Each contest has its own official rules, linked from its page, which say how long we keep applications.
Information collected automatically
- This website is hosted on Cloudflare. Like almost every website, our host records standard technical logs when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the date and time. This keeps the site available, secure, and diagnosable.
- We measure traffic in two ways. Umami and Cloudflare Web Analytics are cookieless: they set nothing on your device, build no personal profiles, and cannot follow you to other websites. They report aggregate counts such as page views, referrers, and country.
- Google Analytics also runs on this site, loaded through Google Tag Manager. Unlike the above, it sets cookies on your device and gives Google your IP address, so it is switched off by default in the UK, the EEA, and Switzerland, and runs there only if you accept it. See section 06.
- We run no advertising or remarketing tags. Advertising storage is switched off for every visitor in every country, whatever you choose in the banner.
Fonts
- Our pages use the Geist typeface, served from this website itself alongside the rest of the page. No font request goes to Google or any other third party.
04Signing in with Google
The hosted Context Engine application offers Sign in with Google as one way to create and access your account. Using it is optional.
If you choose it, Google asks for your permission and then shares a limited set of details from your Google profile with us: your name, your email address, your profile picture, and the identifier Google uses for your account. We request the basic sign-in permissions only (openid, email, and profile). We do not request access to your Gmail messages, your Google Drive files, your Google Calendar, your contacts, or any other content in your Google Account, and we cannot read any of it.
We use those details for one purpose: to create your Context Engine account, to recognise you when you sign in again, to show your name and picture to you and to colleagues in your workspace, and to contact you about your account. We do not use them for advertising, we do not sell them, and we do not share them with anyone beyond the providers listed in section 07.
Limited Use. Context Engine's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can disconnect Context Engine from your Google Account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete the account and the details above, email hello@contextengine.com and we will delete them, unless the law requires us to keep something.
05Why we use it, and our legal bases
We use the information above to reply to you, to arrange and hold consultations, to run contests you enter, to create and run your account in the Context Engine application, to run and secure this website, and to meet our legal obligations. Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: to create your account, to sign you in, and to provide the Context Engine application to you once you hold an account; and, when you apply for a contest, to judge your application, contact you if you win, and deliver the prize under the contest's official rules.
- Legitimate interests: to answer enquiries you send us, to arrange meetings you request, and to keep the site available and secure. Our interest is running a business and speaking with people who contact us, balanced against your rights.
- Consent: where you choose to contact us or book a meeting, where you tick the optional box on a contest form asking to hear from us, and for the analytics cookies described in section 06 where the law requires us to ask first. You can withdraw consent at any time, through Cookie settings in the footer, through the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing us.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
We do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you, and we do not profile you.
06Cookies and similar technologies
We use no advertising cookies and do no cross-site tracking. The only cookies this site sets are analytics cookies, and only from Google Analytics.
What is set, and when
- Google Analytics sets
_gaand_ga_<property>, which last up to two years and tell Google Analytics whether a browser has been here before. In the UK, the EEA, and Switzerland these are set only after you press Accept. Everywhere else they are set by default, and you can turn them off at any time. - Umami and Cloudflare Web Analytics set nothing on your device. They need no consent and are unaffected by your choice.
- Cloudflare, our host, may use strictly necessary measures to route traffic and protect the site from abuse. These are essential to delivering the page you asked for and are not used to track you.
- We store your choice itself in your browser's local storage under
ce-consent, so we do not have to ask again on every page. It never leaves your device.
Changing your mind
Select Cookie settings in the footer of any page to accept or decline at any time. Declining stops the analytics cookies from being set; any already stored can be cleared in your browser settings, along with cookies from any other site.
Until you choose, Google Consent Mode holds analytics storage in a denied state for visitors in the UK, the EEA, and Switzerland, so nothing is written to your device while the banner is on screen. Closing the banner without choosing counts as declining.
07Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We rely on a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf:
- Cloudflare, Inc.: website hosting, security, technical logs, cookieless traffic measurement, and the database that stores contest applications.
- Our own Context Engine instance: contest applications are also recorded in the Context Engine our team runs for itself, on infrastructure operated by Relote, so that the people judging can read them where they work.
- Google LLC: Sign in with Google for the application (section 04), the consultation booking (Google Calendar) and, where you have accepted it, traffic measurement (Google Analytics, delivered through Google Tag Manager).
- Umami Software, Inc.: cookieless traffic measurement.
- Our email provider: to receive and send email.
Each provider acts under its own terms and, where relevant, a data processing agreement. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is needed to protect our rights, safety, or property.
08International transfers
We are a United States business, and some of our providers, including Cloudflare, Google, and Umami, process information in the United States and other countries. Where information is transferred out of the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum to them, or a provider's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
09How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking information for as long as we need it to deal with your request and to keep a reasonable business record, then we delete it. We keep contest applications that did not win for six months after the winners are announced, then delete them, unless you ticked the box asking to hear from us, in which case we keep your name and email until you unsubscribe; winners' details are kept for as long as their license runs and as the law requires. We keep the account details in section 04 for as long as your Context Engine account is open, and we delete them when the account is closed or when you ask us to. Technical logs are kept for a short period by our host for security and diagnostics. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, unless the law requires us to keep it.
10How we protect it
We keep the site simple on purpose: the less we collect, the less there is to protect. We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
11Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of these rights over your personal information:
- access a copy of it;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive it in a portable form;
- withdraw a consent you have given;
- complain to a data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, email hello@contextengine.com. We will respond within one month. There is no fee, unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive. If you are in the United Kingdom, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). If you are in the European Economic Area, you can complain to your local supervisory authority.
12United States privacy rights
We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. If you live in a US state with a privacy law, such as California, you may have rights to access, delete, or correct your information. Email hello@contextengine.com and we will honour any right that applies to you. We treat a recognised opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing, although we do neither.
13Children
This website and our product are meant for businesses and the people who work in them. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email hello@contextengine.com and we will delete it.
14Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and we will make any significant change clear here.
